Keynote Presentation - Drive Your Potential

09:45am

Practical Techniques for moving beyond one loop (Introductory)

This session will describe many different tips and tricks for programming faster in LabVIEW. It will open with a quick introduction of the motivations we have for programming faster. It will then spend a lot of time discussing Quick Drop, the most effective productivity-accelerating feature in LabVIEW. Next, it talks about how to best utilize templates and sample projects (including how to create your own) to provide time-saving starting points for LabVIEW applications. Then, it will cover many other ways to accelerate common tasks in the LabVIEW editor. Finally, the presentation goes into detail on the effective use of many other miscellaneous efficiency-related features. This presentation is geared toward LabVIEW developers of all levels (CLAD, CLD, CLA), and would be of particular interest to developers aspiring toward CLD certification, given how often developers are crunched for time during the CLD exam.

10:50am

Personalising the LabVIEW Environment to Accelerate productivity (Introductory- Intermediate)

You have lots of options to modify the LabVIEW environment for your individual needs, which gives you the chance to optimize your daily desk to be more efficient and more innovative. At this session, explore a range of modification possibilities, from the Tools»Options Dialog to LabVIEW.ini and Quick Drop shortcuts from the LabVIEW Tools Network.

11:35am

Improving Code Quality through Automated Code Analysis (Intermediate)

The VI Analyzer is a powerful tool for code analysis and inspection in LabVIEW, with many pieces of core functionality included with LabVIEW itself. In addition to identifying style and performance issues, the VI Analyzer can also be used to detect problems that would be extremely difficult to find through visual code inspection, particularly across larger codebases. This presentation will cover a variety of topics related to the VI Analyzer--from the basics of its use, all the way to creating custom tests for your own specific code inspection needs. We will also discuss real-world scenarios in which the VI Analyzer was used to find (and in some cases, automatically fix!) well-hidden bugs in LabVIEW code.

12:15pm

Case Study Presentation

Hear from local engineers and scientists from academia and industry as they explore innovative approaches to their applications using LabVIEW.

We are pleased announce the scheduling of a LabVIEW User Group at our 2015 LabVIEW Developer Days events. LabVIEW User Groups are organizations of people who regularly meet and share their common interest in LabVIEW. Members include technicians, test engineers, university professors, computer scientists, and people from countless other professions, and provide the opportunity for face-to-face interactions with other LabVIEW developers, and for you to grow your LabVIEW expertise.

With such a strong user community and continued interest from local developers in establishing regular User Groups, LabVIEW Developer Days will be the ideal venue to play host to a local User Group meeting.

Time: TBD

Venue: 2015 LabVIEW Developer Days (separate venue space to be provided)

Cost: Free

Agenda: 2 x 20 minute presentations, 60 minutes of open discussion. Topics to be finalized based on presentation proposals and provided to those interested in attending.
