Hands-On Campus Workshop: 3hr Introductory Training to LabVIEW and DAQ
If you think LabVIEW could aid your research or project but have not had a chance to learn more about it, this is a great opportunity to get hands-on and understand how it can accelerate your productivity and innovation. Alternatively if you have used LabVIEW in the past but are looking for a refresher course, this is the perfect way to catch up on the latest features while working though exercises designed to reinforce the LabVIEW essentials.
In this workshop you will:
• Build a LabVIEW application that will acquire, filter, output and display an analogue audio signal
• Achieve an understanding of the fundamentals of programming graphical code
• Learn best practices for developing data acquisition and control applications
• Get advice from experienced NI engineers on the challenges you face with LabVIEW and NI hardware

Hands-On Campus Workshop: 3hr LabVIEW Development Training for Application Design
Designed for existing LabVIEW users, this provides a great opportunity to take your graphical programming skills to the next level, creating stable, scalable, structured code that meets the demands of your application. This workshop is designed as a taster for the more advanced professional LabVIEW training courses.
In this workshop you will:
• Build a state machine software architecture in LabVIEW using low level DAQmx VIs to acquire, analyse and present signals from a MEMS Gyroscope
• Learn best practices for expanding scalable code by adding decision making and logging data to disk in a format readable by a standard spreadsheet
• Get advice from experienced NI engineers on the challenges you face with LabVIEW and NI hardware
Hands-On Circuit Design Workshop: 3hr Multisim and NI ELVIS Training
In this workshop you will:
• Rapidly build a circuit schematic using NI Multisim and simulate this using the built in SPICE tools
• See how this circuit design can be easily reproduced on a breadboard in the real world using NI ELVIS
• Compare the simulated results to real measurements taken with quality instruments integrated into the NI ELVIS platform
• Get advice from experienced NI engineers on the challenges you face integrating hands-on elements to circuit design education
Hands-On Textual Maths and LabVIEW Workshop: 1hr
This hands-on training session will introduce how to work with your .m file scripts in LabVIEW. Using the MathScript technology built into the LabVIEW platform, you are able to rapidly prototype and develop algorithms with interactive user interfaces and deploy them directly onto real-time targets. We will also cover integration of your models created using The MathWorks, Inc. Simulink® software with high performance flexible I/O for evaluation of control algorithms. The native multithreaded simulation algorithms in LabVIEW help you take advantage of multicore platforms running on real-time operating systems for faster execution. * Simulink® is a registered trademark of The MathWorks, Inc.
In this workshop you will:
• Build a LabVIEW application that incorporates multiple models of computation (G code, Math Script) onto a single LabVIEW block diagram
• Learn how to simulates the behaviour of a real-world systems in LabVIEW through the integration of your models created using The MathWorks, Inc. Simulink® software
• Explore how the LabVIEW Simulation Interface Toolkit can be used to write models natively in the LabVIEW environment

Hands-On Sound and Vibration Workshop: 1hr
In this workshop you will:
• Get hands-on with LabVIEW and DSA hardware to understand how to acquire and analyse dynamic waveform data in both time and order domains
• Explore the express and low level analysis functions built into the LabVIEW Sound and Vibration Toolkit
• Get advice from experienced NI engineers on the challenges you face integrating hands-on elements to circuit design education
Hands-on Data Management Workshop: 3hr
Gigabytes, even Terabytes, of data are becoming commonplace in many research applications. Explore how NI DIAdem and the TDM file format harness new data storage technologies to enable you to effectively save, document, search and use these data sets.
In this workshop you will:
• Explore techniques using NI DIAdem for DataFinding with automated reporting and data mining with interactive reporting
• Create automated analysis and reporting within NI DIAdem
• Understand how to create custom plug-ins to access any data type
• Learn how to synchronize data sets for intuitive display, eg. video and sensor data
